Welcome!

Whether a visitor, resident, or local business owner, welcome to the Sugar Loaf Community Foundation (SLCF) - whose simple goal is to "enhance the quality of life" in the hamlet of Sugar Loaf, NY.

Sugar Loaf is so much more than a "crafts village".  With its rich history dating back to the early 18th century, it's a place for the history buff.  A place for the study of Native American culture and archaeology.  A place to celebrate nature and the area's amazing flora and fauna.  A place for the epicurean - including food, wine, craft beers and spirits. A place for the concert and theatre goer at a world class facility - SLPAC.

All under the majestic gaze of one of the tallest mountains in Orange County - Sugar Loaf Mountain.

The focus of the SLCF is to make Sugar Loaf a better, happier and healthier place to live.

Objectives include:

- Identify and help resolve issues that affect the residents, businesses and hamlet.

- Preserve, promote and celebrate the history, beauty and diversity of the area.

- Sponsor community events such as: Fall and Spring Festivals, Holiday Celebration.

- Sponsor beautification and landscaping initiatives such as: planting flowers and trees.

- Prepare for the future. With the changes in demographics, technology and consumer behavior, how can we best prepare for the future.

Sugar Loaf is still best known as a crafts village, but over time - with the advancement of e-commerce and new technologies - things change.

But what's not changed is the natural beauty of the area, the kindness and diversity of the residents - and the unique entrepreneurial spirit of its artisans, merchants and business owners.

Please look through this website and add your voice to the community, with your opinions, stories, suggestions and issues.  And please consider joining the Sugar Loaf Community Foundation.
